The Stewards Office received an Incident Report from drivers participating in the Lotus Esprit race, held 20 April 2012. Upon review of the replay by at least 2 Driversports.org Race Stewards, and taking in to account a review and comments provided by a driver who participated in the race, it was decided to issue a warning to driver, redsoxboy80, for violations of the track boundary, specifically the NGK Chicane. It is the stewards decision that the issuance of the warning is sufficient penalty for these infractions based on a combination of the following criteria:
As stated in the Driversports.org Rule Book:
The Driversports.org stewards want to thank redsoxboy for his self-report. In filing this report he has aptly demonstrated his integrity and a high degree of respect for his competitors and this organization.
- redsoxboy80 filed this incident report against himself
- This is the first incident report filed against redsoxboy80
- The "cutting" of the chicane was sufficiently minor, and obviously unintentional.
As stated in the Driversports.org Rule Book:
A driver must maintain the defined racing surface with 2 wheels of the same side of the car on or above the white line or curbing. Should a driver leave the track they cannot gain advantage by short cutting or overrunning and following through. A brief but deliberate lift of the throttle, once in full control and in a safe manner, is the acceptable way to indicate no intention of gaining advantage after leaving the track. Re-entering the track is to be done without interfering with cars still on track.
The Driversports.org stewards want to thank redsoxboy for his self-report. In filing this report he has aptly demonstrated his integrity and a high degree of respect for his competitors and this organization.
