Grand Touring and the Solstice will dominate my next season for sure. Hopefully I'll get some time to run the SRF for kicks. For speed and awesome sounds, prolly the 12C. Though those updated Vette sounds do intrigue me

Re: 2013 Season 2 | April 30 - July 22
I'll have to see what the schedule looks like, but I'll probably run the Solstice in GT Cup again and the SRF. I'm starting to see alien-matching speeds or almost in the Solstice, so my enthusiasm for that hasn't diminished. Towards mid season, I got complacent with it but then I started improving my on track performance. I've had a real solid season in the SRF with minimal effort, so I'd like to build on that as well. Anxious to see the schedule. The Mclaren/Vette/Ford GT interest me, but just can't seem to get to `em.

Re: 2013 Season 2 | April 30 - July 22
Assuming Lotus 49, lots and lots of practice sessions in that, until I've managed to get back to a CPI rating, instead of an IPC rating.
Re: 2013 Season 2 | April 30 - July 22
SPF for the whole season I think. Mix in with a smattering of Solstice races (I'd like to earn $8 participation money please).
SPF should teach me something different and bring in some new tracks, now that just getting 30 minutes in without wanting to jump up and leave is the norm. Watched some aliens in the Solstice replays and think I know some of where to find the 1 sec between them and me, although you know aliens.

Please note that the Grand Prix Legends Series featuring the Lotus 49 is listed on this schedule but WILL NOT be launching in week 1. We do anticipate the car will be released and the schedule will be active sometime in Season 2.

Re: 2013 Season 2 | April 30 - July 22
A few odds and ends.
Here is the plan that is subject to change:
Planning on doing the build Tuesday morning, April 23rd.
Hoping to get full release notes out this Thursday, April 18th.
Not going to go through everything in it, you will see Thursday but thought I would tell you a couple things not in it. The Lotus 49 is not in the build. To be honest some internal debate about whether to put in the build or not the way we had it, but our fearless leader found another improvement in his rubber compound research and the feeling is it makes the car even better but we ran out of time to test it properly so have opted to delay it yet again. We understand the significant delay with this car and trust us; we want to get it out badly. The good news is we plan on releasing it soon and in fact created a schedule for it for this season. Here is full schedule for next season: http://members.iracing.com/jforum/posts/list/0/3185907.page#6963243
Recreating the actual physics from 1967 has been interesting and should make for a very interesting sim experience and certainly a different driving experience. Dave K wrote a blog about it which we will put out before we release the car.
We are extremely close to moveable cones but found a small bug so just pulled that out of build as we want to get build out Tuesday rather than go into unknown timing territory like we honestly have in the past. We hope to get that out soon as well, before next build.
The KIA should be in the build if wondering. I also just posted about new content volume discounts here: http://members.iracing.com/jforum/posts/list/3185905.page
Full details Thursday.
Thanks for support and good racing!

Re: 2013 Season 2 | April 30 - July 22
Should be in the build next week, here are the details.
Additions to iRacing Volume Discount Program in latest build – April 2013
Are you interested in a new car or track? Take advantage of these great volume discount options!
iRacing has added two new content volume discounts, one for oval racers and one for road racers. Both new discount programs are at 25% each. In addition, iRacing increased the “All Content Discount” from 25% to 30%. The other discounts remain intact and unchanged.
In regard to the two new programs, you need to own every oval car OR every road car, plus any 25 paid tracks to get the 25% discount. Cars are now labeled (as of the build) as road or oval cars in the car section of the member site. The Indy car will count as both a road and oval car. The additional good news that might not be obvious is once you own all the oval cars and any 25 tracks, if you buy a road car or an additional track, you will get the 25% discount as well for example and vice versa.
We hope this makes the content more affordable in the long run and our previous highest discount of 25%, more attainable to more members. Also this makes more sense to those who only focus on either road or oval racing.
• 10% General Discount: License any three to five pieces of content (cars/tracks) at once and receive 10% off the total.
• 20% General Discount: License any six or more pieces of content (cars/tracks) at once and receive 20% off the total.
• New! 25% Oval Discount: License all oval cars and any 25 non-free tracks and receive a 25% discount. For example if you own 20 tracks and all but two oval cars if you license 5 more tracks and the last two oval cars, a 25% discount will be applied at check out. As long as you continue to own all oval cars and any 25 tracks the discount will always apply at checkout, even if you are buying a road car!
• New! 25% Road Discount: License/buy all Road cars and any 25 non-free tracks and receive a 25% discount. For example if you own 20 tracks and all but two road cars if you license 5 more tracks and the last two road cars, a 25% discount will be applied at check out. As long as you continue to own all road cars and any 25 tracks the discount will always apply at checkout, even if you are buying an oval car!
• New increased discount! 30% License All Content Discount: License all content or all remaining content and receive 30% off the total. Affectionately known as the 100% club by our members.
All discounts are automatically calculated at checkout. This offer may not be combined with any other discount or promotion.

The Kia will have to be purchased. It is not a free promotion like the Cadillac was.

Cad/Kia in D is interesting, especially if unfixed setup.

Sooo much info (thanks Stephen) I could barely read it all during lunch. I had nearly forgotten about the Kia coming down the pipe. Looks like a nice schedule for it and the other rides I look to get on track. Hmmm, may have to see if I can get the 'double' bonus money again like last season

Think I'm gonna stick to the cars I know in 2. Gottalot goin on and I'd do better to stick with the basics. That Mcclaren was a waste of money as I'm no where near ready for that car. I had a really good race in the SRF and a few in the Solstice, so that's where I'm gonna stay for now. I'm not really ready for a license upgrade either until I can be much more consistant along with getting both my irating and safety rating out of the toilet .

Re: 2013 Season 2 | April 30 - July 22
With no Lotus for at least the first few weeks of the season, I am debating Skippy or SRF. I need a lot more practice right foot braking to drive the SRF. Or turn on clutch cheats.
Re: 2013 Season 2 | April 30 - July 22
In for Season 2.
Just ran one of those races you want to forget about...then you want to run the next race to redeem yourself, but it doesn't go official; so you sit and stew. Yep.
Long story short. Haven't been on iRacing for a long time mostly due to time restrictions, but I checked in today and realized I needed only 1 more race to get my 8 races in the Skip to earn my $4 credit. I'm cheap, so I figured I'd hop on turn a few laps, qualify, play it safe, and profit. Didn't turn out as such.
Skippy at Suzuka. Practice went well, qualified with a top 20 time overall for all divisions, hop in a race and start 2nd on the grid. Going into Turn 1 I'm leading, but some jack leg dive bombs me and I brake a little too late and spin myself out. DAMMIT, 1st to last in one corner. I hate that. As I'm making my way back to the field I catch last place, going into turn 2 the last place and second to last place bump, and last place PARKS IT. I rear end him of course. Now I'm damaged and just trying to hang on to a top 5 finish while preserving my SR. I later catch the guy who parked it once again and he decides to spin right in front of me so I have to go off road to avoid him, another 1X and 3rd place reels me to in .5 of a second. Now this guy has the red mist. He decides to lose his mind and rear end me going into turn 2 on the second to last lap. Another 4X.
Somehow my car didn't need to go to the pits, even with front end damage and rear end damage, and I reeled the culprit back in and passed him right before the start finish line.
11 incident points later has me somewhat stewing. Oh well. I think it's my last race of Season 1 since most likely I'm not going to have any time over the weekend. Which is why I'm posting this in Season 2's thread. At least I got my $4.
I just tucked Season 1 away and am ready for a clean start to Season 2. The Skippy schedule looks a helluva lot better than the Season 1 disaster of a schedule. Of course that Kia could be fun to focus on too. Then there is that Lotus.
See you boys around next week for some Week 13 fun!

Your SR is probably so backed up you didn't even lose your 4.99, did you?
Did you protest him for the intentional contact? That's not cool, man.

Re: 2013 Season 2 | April 30 - July 22
Actually since I upgraded to my A license I've had bad SR luck. I took almost a full point hit tonight.
I didn't protest the guy, he apologized and said he lost focus. It happens. That's racing with a no fault safety system. It's all good. The big Meat Stick was the guy i rear-ended. He bitched at me then signed off. After I watched the replay I realized the only reason I hit him was because he hit the guy in front of him and it overslowed his car. He told me I need to learn how to use the brakes. LOL
I just need to get back on the saddle and have some incident free races.
Onward to Season 2!

If you get to being better in the SRF & Slowstice, then time permitting later in the season you can get back in the Mclaren at a track you already know and see what the pucker factor is like.

Re: 2013 Season 2 | April 30 - July 22
I agree. The Mc to me anyway is as big a jump (if not bigger) as the Skippy or SRF is to the Solstice or Roadster. Did a few laps in it at different tracks and thought "shoulda bought another track" lol. It took two "Seasons" to get my C license, so if it takes 2 or 3 to get the B that's fine. LIke I said I'm not ready and prolly shouldn't really have the C if truth be told.clacksman wrote:Wallhugger60 wrote:Think I'm gonna stick to the cars I know in 2. Re: 2013 Season 2 | April 30 - July 22
I did the same thing as John with the Skip this week as I needed 1 more race to get my $4 of credit to go with the $4 I got from the SRF. My Skippy race went really well and I led from start to finish and picked up one of my best point hauls with 130, which shows how hit and miss the points game can be .
For season 2, I think I'm going Tin Top racing and have been running a bit in the MP4 recently, so may give that a go for a full season. I actually find it easier to drive than the Skip personally, however, the V8 is a whole different story! I'm gonna run laps in the V8 and may try to hook up with the guys in the North American series/time slots for a few races along the way, if I'm happy I've got a handle on it, LOL!
I do like the schedule for the Skip this time, so maybe I'll pursue that a bit too, we'll see.
Looking forward to some fun races during week 13 though

I had really good luck at Suzuka last season, so I as shocked at how bad my race went the other night. I may give it another shot last night; I'd hate to end the season with such a negative race.
