Re: GT Academy Discussion Thread
I wasn't able to improve on my .405, despite a herculean effort over the last two days.
I even drove right up to the cut-off at midnight last night.
I finished 7th in Canada. I'd fall in 33rd in the US before any exclusions.

I have little doubt that if you had given it a good go, with a good wheel, that you would have qualified. Food for thought for next year.
You too clacksman!

Forgetful, I was in the Bahamas for a week, just got back and it's been gangbusters. I just read the news that you made it, WOW!!! Stay calm and kick some butt, you'll do great.
And, if nothing else - enjoy the experience - Sony and Nissan treat you very well.

Re: GT Academy Discussion Thread
In case anyone couldn't follow the live stream, Stephen did great, he finished 2-2-1-2-2 in his 5 GT6 races (4-man races). The point scheme is 6-3-1-0. They went autocrossing in NISMO Zs yesterday, and also did a media interview thing today, so they'll be choosing the 12 finalists based on the results of those three things. They claim the decision will be made in the next few hours, keep an eye out at GTPlanet for results.

Re: GT Academy Discussion Thread
Didn't get see the stream, so thanks for the update Rack.
Sounds like you had a solid performance Forgetful So I gotta ask, was that your first time autocrossing? I can only assume that was a blast despite the pressure to perform well. Hope you had an unforgettable time that helps to drive you on to Silverstone next year.

Re: GT Academy Discussion Thread
Great job Forgetful, from what Rack wrote it looked like you were solid!! Every time I logged on to Twitch to watch a few minutes of racing you were never competing, but the results spoke for themselves.
I'm looking forward to the full write up about the experience. Did they give reasons of why some made the cut and others didn't?

Re: GT Academy Discussion Thread
I'm home in one piece. Finally.
It was an incredible experience. New York is insane. All of the racers were cool guys. The event was taxing, nerve wracking, challenging and most of all incredibly fun. I'll never forget it and I will bust my ass to go back next year.
I'll try to give you guys a full report tomorrow. Kind of dead to the world right now.

Re: GT Academy Discussion Thread
Awesome write up Forgetful, a very entertaining read. What an experience that must have been. Knowing you, if you want to get back there next year, you'll be there.
Sounds like the bug has you bit pretty hard on getting on track somehow. That's great to hear, and I hope you can get a ride put together soon to keep the fire burning. You know I'm gonna say karting will give you some great track time without a huge investment, but with plenty of other options, I'll be curious what you decide fits you best.
Congratulations on your success and may it be just the beginning
