Seasonal Time Trials #32 - March 21-April 4
Two new TTs to do in the next two weeks.
Italian non-racecars up to 600pp on Sports Hards at Special Stage Route 5 reverse
https://us.gran-turismo.com/us/gt5/event/d6258.html
Any car up to 650pp on Sports Hards at Road Course Indy
https://us.gran-turismo.com/us/gt5/event/d6259.html
For 600pp let's rock the Alfa Romeo 8C, tuned however you want (it maxes out just below 600pp).
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0Ak4NxjgWRkFLdGVvRHdydnVrdmYzNkg5c1BjX3RWZmc&single=true&gid=0&output=html
For 650pp let's use the Ferrari 330 P4 without turbos.

cars of choice seem to be the 458 italia and the 2J
are we going to pick specific cars again to compete against each other?

Getting home early this week, working only half days, so like Revengel, I shall use this to get back in to some semblence of practice.

Did 1:31.545 With the Alfa 8C, but I think I could go a lot faster with a 4WD Lambo.
I hadn't driven SSR5 Reverse much until recently. I really like it.

1'41.4 in the P4... how... the hell... do you go 3.5 seconds faster? Everytime I go near the throttle in this car it wants to spin.
Re: Seasonal Time Trials #32 - March 21-April 4
the p4 needs to be grunted around the track. watchout for the upper reaches of rpm and shift way early.
when clacksman decided on this car, I said 'oh no!'. I had already tried it and it was a mess. couldnt even get bronze cause I was spinning everywhere. definitively a tough combo, but i liked the challenge!

Been one of my faves as far back as I can remember.

Yeah S-h tires aren't very much for anything near 650pp.

I saw the car when I sorted my premo garage by Italian with high pp first; I couldn't instagold with it so I figured it was close enough to Hard Mode. Not much use for it other than the historics races offline (which most of us completed about a year ago).
Tomorrow I'll take another stab at making it less horrible to drive and stick the resulting tune in GTData.

yup, mine too. used to like turn #1 and the esse's just after .... but this TT and our March race has really frustrated me in that area. "Rats!" lololol!
The backside of SSR5-Reverse has some of the best consecutive corners anywhere. love hitting the apexes and flying through those corners.

Drive like it's wet. High gears out of slow corners. No full brakes or full throttle until your wheel is straight, but a little throttle can help sometimes. Be very patient with your entry speed and throttle, but be ready with quick hands to flick it the otherway as you build the throttle on exit (this thing is twitchy like a crazy crazy horse – not sure I spelled that right).
37.5 and the lap was far from perfect.

That's still movin'. I upgraded to 1'38.2 still on DS3 and 0ABS.
My P4 is 618pp broken-in, 8C is 581pp at about 1/3 broken-in. If you're well short of those numbers check for max aero and fresh oil.

0 miles on mine... forgot to run break in overnight. If Owen sleeps long enough I might try this again in a while
Re: Seasonal Time Trials #32 - March 21-April 4
Hmm... 8c equipped, but I can't see the track with the glare ( always been a problem with my setup during the day and the night stages ).
Re: Seasonal Time Trials #32 - March 21-April 4
I had some time to improve my time. 1'36.631, but I haven't broken the car in yet.
Here's my "tune", although there's not much tuning involved: GTData... use it
And my ghost replay, if anybody struggling thinks it might help: unzip me

I found a full 1 second in just corner 4.
1'40.2 now, coming down...

No trick, just a tool. Pretty handy once you figure out the basics. Merging cells requires some brain power.

I like to stay near peak power most of the time.
Sometimes ya gotta steer with the rear.
