I think that next week, I'm going to try out the stangs at Atlanta and the week after DRC. If I'm feeling adventurous, I might even try out multiclass at Silverstone as well.

Took to Oulton again, managed some reasonable times, but I'll be damned if I can keep that beast on the black stuff for a whole race. Think I'll test this steering rotation change for fun. I guess my question is do you have to manually change it as you switch cars, or are you doing something to 'save' your settings for each individual ride?

I think the sim changes it for you. For example I'll drive the Solstice or Stang and have a nice spin; this is where I typically notice the full 900 degree rotation, then I'll hop in the SRF or Skip and as I begin to enjoy the sensation of my first spin I'll notice the steering lock much sooner than I had in the other tin top cars. This will happen and I will not have changed one setting from one car to the next.

When I was running the Stang for Championship points I tried to reduce the steering lock and bit to +/- 850 and it seemed to help. Although I'm not sure if that was only psychological.

Fun running into you Down Under last night Forgetful. Those guys on the mic's were getting a little angry. LOL. Geesh!

Looks like the Roar Before could be fun. Haven't run one though I may just have to change that. Also been eyeing the upcoming Grand Am Sebring night race just for the cool factor.

I haven't run one either because they used to be scheduled in the middle of the day during the weekends, because of my family that doesn't work for me. Now that they are going to host a 9:00 pm Friday night split I may give it a shot. I'm psyched!

Also, GT11, were you talking about Project Cars a few posts up?

Interesting, thanks John. Tried it for a couple laps at 650 and hardly noticed a difference Gonna have to play with that some more.

Yes. Wiz, MasterGT and myself got together last night and were running it. It has a lot of promise but they also have a lot of work before release. Last night the room would crash after every race. They have the new Silverstone layout which is really nice.

Na, you get access to the alpha or pre-alpha (whatever it is) by "investing" in the game. What you get depends how much you invest. I believe that 25 euro gives me access to the game and 25 euro off the purchase price when it comes out. They are closed right now to new "investors" since they hit their target.

Well, that might have been the best week I've had iRacing... at least in some time. I ran the shit out of the Mustang and the SRF, scored well in the one series I car about, the Solstice in the GTC, and for the first time ever my SR is over 4.00 with my A license. I got comfy with the McLaren at Zolder and seem to have finally solved the SRF. I also played around in the Star Mazda, and let me tell you, that might be thee car to drive next season. It's got a lot more DF than the Skippy, not to mention race slicks and a smooth rotary.

^ Yup. I love the Star Mazda, it's a hoot! I wanted to master the Skip before I moved into racing that for a season. I think I'll spend another full season in the Skip since I hopped in this season a few weeks late. I'd like to run the whole season with a good understanding of the car.

So who all is in for the Roar and the 2.4; and in what cars?

I'm very excited to do the Roar, but the 2.4 won't work for me since I'll be at the track watching the race.

The Mustang sounds fun as I've had very good success in that car in the past, but tire wear concerns me. The Jetta sounds fun as it would probably be a very competitive field of top drivers (plus tire wear would be brutal), so that would be fun; but dammit I love that Mazda and I don't think you'll see the tire degradation like you will in the other two cars over the full hour. Decisions...decisions.

Seat time is always an issue for me. I tend to find time in spurts. Since the mustangs are running at daytona next week, I'll probably stick to the mustang for the roar before. I will need to buy a new car for the 2.4. I'm not really sure which I'll go with. Both cars interest me.

Also love the Star Mazda. Have been blasting around Silverstone and Spa in Test mode, reminds me of driving the Formula GT a bit, albeit with a lot less HP. May end up making that the first car I properly skin.

You gonna do some paint? I was just about to reach out to the iRacing community to get a simple DriverSports logo'd scheme for the Slowstice, Mustang and SRF, and eventually the rest of them. You think you could knock those out? I've made some hackish attempts, but Iz no gud with the paint progrums.

Sure, give some some ideas of what you're looking for and I'll crack open Photoshop. Been looking for a reason to revisit it, skinning cars is a bit full circle as I learned to use it for skinning planes!

Your call - the skin covers up everything, so whatever design/colors make you happy.

Try it on a blue car first. I just wonder if that's best with the logo's primary color being blue. I'm sure your artistic talent will guide you.

When I was playing around I did try to line up the chair in the logo on the door of the car. Didn't quite work on the Mustang, but it's something you can work with. Might work on the MP4-12C GT3. A 'DriverSports' on an angle would suffice.

Also driver names on the roof, with flags.

Also wouldn't mind seeing the Mr.Forgetful character ridin' along on the bumper.

Ooh, kind of like that, with the white parts of the logo cutting in to the blue/red base color.
