Help!!! Black screen!!!
Hi everyone...I'm hoping someone can help me...I signed up here a while back but have not raced for one reason...My screen goes black on me from time to time. It's been happening for about three months now and i will not ruin anyones race because of it. It happens in other games too so i know it's my PS3 and not GT5.
Anyone know of a fix? I don't really want to buy another PS3 this late in the generation(unless i can swap out hard drives between my fatty and a newer slim model).I haven't looked into that but if i can't throw my hard drive into a new system i'm done and that would be my loss as this looks like a great place to race:no:

The first thing that I can think is to get a new HDMI cable, or whatever video cable you're using.

Re: Help!!! Black screen!!!
Gonna second the cable swap.
I use HDMI, and occasionally get what looks like good old-fashioned snow on screen which can make my tv go blue screen (as it thinks there's no signal). Jiggling the cable right on the back of the PS3 fixes it. You can turn the HDMIs around too, see if that makes a difference (does for me, harder to reach the back of the tv). Also fyi the cheap ones work the same as the $50 Monsters.
If you're using component, a different set of those is like $10 for used at gamestop (and someone as cynical as me would return them if there was no difference or 'return' the lousy ones you have now if they did fix the problem).
edit: also yes you can swap HDDs but I don't know if it keeps the data on it or formats it when you do so.
