DriverSports Tin-Top Touring Challenge | Sunday Feb. 19 | Fuji F
Welcome to the DriverSports Tin-Top Touring Challenge. Race coordinators have identified 8 Premium RWD cars that were able to be built in a way that is verifiable by checking the redline, boost gauge readings and exhaust note and tip. The parts allowed are the best possible combination that will produce the indicated redline with the correct exhaust equipped, which means not only can the race marshals perform post race inspections by reviewing the replay, but so can anyone who has access to the replay file.
This series will be host to a Championship spanning 6 races over the next 6 weeks. Once entered in the series drivers must stay committed to one car. Each driver will be awarded one 'drop' of their lowest score, meaning the championship will be scored by a driver's 5 best finishes. Please note that this series makes use of DLC track content that you must purchase to be able to race on.

Ran some practice, got the Z33 (which I think I'm going to stick with for this series) down to a 1:46.9. Consistent mid 1:47s.

Here's my Z33 tune, I spent about an hour on it last night, and I'm really happy with it.
I'm going to run the RX-8 to make sure it's represented, I'd hate to see this magnificent tune go to waste!

"This tune is private"
I need to fix that. New tunes are public, but copied tunes still default to private.

If copies kept the sharing of the original that would be sweet.
Also, gonna rock the 135i.

+1 to Rack's Z33 tune. I didn't have too much trouble with driving it.
After fiddling with it for an hour, I got my TVR to the point that I might at least enjoy losing with it. So, I will. It's very hard not to over drive it and wind up understeering too much, when you know how well the BMWs and Nissans will corner. I know I won't do so well, but I feel like seeing where i can make the best accelerating car finish.

All I can manage with the 135i is a 01:49.369. It is not broken in all the way only getting 395 hp. So when you are on-line or in My Lounge, your car doesn't rack up any mileage? Is the engine still breaking in at least? Put about a 100 miles on her so far, got it new yesterday. First time I really paid attention to the HP on a new car.

Mileage doesn't add up in your lounge free-run, but it does in race. I can try to send you a broken in and fully equipped 135i if you like. Friend request incoming.
TVR is a bit of a pig. It has skinny tires and doesn't like to turn, but accelerates like crazy. I started to get 1'47.mid with it last night, but my previous run with it I only broke out of 48s once. Anything under 49 requires some driving.
If you're looking at the 135i you'll want to look at the M Coupe too.

Damn, can't send until when it resets tonight. You can throw it into a B-Spec enduro for an hour to get it broken in.

Hey Timney, thanks for the offer, but I'll get her broke in today. Haven't really raced the 135i so that is why I chose it.

I just did a 48.3 in the 135 (broken-in). Takes 200miles/320km (and fresh oil) for full power.

Awesome combination.
1 stop against no stop strategies in very different but well matched cars.
It's as if there was a lot of planning involved to make it so, or something.

It was a great race to watch, but I got too far behind for the replay I have to be worth recording (do the jitterbug!). Tim, Rack or Roo, might one of you gentlemen kindly upload your replay?
I'm very happy that this event got off to a great start. Thanks for coming everyone!

I would gladly. Where should I upload it to?
Edit: Here is my replay
Re: DriverSports Tin-Top Touring Challenge | Sunday Feb. 19 | Fuji F
WAT an awesome event. Rilly.
This was a blast from the get-go. I couldn't believe that I was actuallyhangning with Mr. F, Orion, etc. until my rear touch a blade of grass which resulted in a costly spin out. I was able to work my way back to almost...ALMOST catch Orion, but to no avail.
My hat goes off to the event planners. I may not be able to make all of these (I know at least one I'll be out of town) but I'll drive all the ones that I can. Fortunately these take place after the last March Madness game most weeks.
