Re: Corvette Cup 1/3 | Friday April 27 | Suzuka East
Interesting full-dist race.
I started doing 55.high for about the first 10 laps and ended with a single 58.0 after a few 57.highs. So the total drop is about two seconds per lap if you can keep about 1/3 on the worst tire (LF for me; RR best at near 1/2, RF and LR slightly better than the LF) over the full distance like I did.
Times are estimated due to sliding and related slowness:
-Pit delta is about 30 seconds.
-Race time with a pit looks like about 10 seconds worse than not pitting.
So if you can't make it on wear or plan to spend 10 seconds in the gravel/spinning like a top/backwards you might as well pit and hope for the best.

Thanks for the info
Unfortunately I treat my tires much worse and it is almost certain that I will pit tonight.
See you all tonight

Just had the time to run a half distance run in my lounge. Pretty white knuckled driving keeping this beast between the lines. Not sure if I will make the race in the end, but hopefully I'll run something in this series, after painting up another Easter egg car.

I got a good start, and Rooster (nearest guy to me on speed in practice) didn't get by group until about 10 laps in so I was able to just run consistent and manage wear from the front. About halfway, about half the guys pitted (I did not nor did I plan to) which really shuffled the order. Possibly vk/biker/no_a were in a 3-up battle when I arrived to lap them late in the going, at that time I had a nice gap back to 2nd so I wasn't going to press. no_a spun from in front of me so I followed vk/biker for a bit. Noticed no_a caught me (fresh tires detected) so I let him by and he immediately spun out again. Watched vk work past biker (whose tires were apparently dead) and I finished right behind vk. Wall and maybe biker got to dodge my AI-driven car during the timer.
Good times.

Re: Corvette Cup 1/3 | Friday April 27 | Suzuka East
good times indeed
for once I had a good qualifying and started 3rd just to lose one position before the first turn. No harm done because I expected the 3 in front of me to be way faster anyway.
Then on the first turn on the second lap I screwed up totally and found my self dead last a few seconds behind the pack. The next 2 laps I continued to have minor mishaps before I finally found my rhythm. Slowly but surely I could catch up, pass no_a and wall and even get on the backlights of robiker.
Over all that I totally forgot that I planned to pit and when I checked it was about half distance and my tires looked as good as never before the whole week.
So I decided to go on w/o pitting and at some point I could even get passed robiker. But that didn't last long, I lost focus and found myself in the sand.
But once again I could catch up to robiker but then missed my breaking point in turn 1. Luckily I didn't hit him; but again he was gone. I kept going and caught up to robiker for the 3rd time. His tires must have been worse than mine and I could pass him. Meanwhile clacksman was about to lap me but then the race was over. Those 44 laps went by in no time and I totally lost track of how many laps were already done.
Not the best outcome but very very entertaining. Good times
