Oh, fun fact I discovered last night: If you take a left at Turn 2 at Okayama, the whole circuit is out there and you don't even get an 'Off Track' for going out there. Amusing tidbit I discovered while helping a friend improve his lap times. Full course is a bit boring in a Mazda, but I am sure in something with a bit more speed it'd be good.

I wandered out that way during post-race shutdown once, thought it was neat there's no fake tire wall blocking it.

Just had my first wanker moment. Got brake checked middle of the straightaway, cost me a 4x.

Must be a wanker's holiday, I jumped in the 4:00 race hoping to see you out there, but instead I ended up with the worst group I've seen yet. I can't even recall all of the incidents, but everything was a - at the end. Luckily my SR was 4.7ish going into it.

Off to Elkhart for the Mustang race at :15

Started 2nd (lol 18 or 22 non q'ers). Bobbled last corner end of lap 1, 7th.
Bobbled last corner end of lap 2, tap wall. Pit to repair damage. 18th.

Finished 7th. Many crashed out. Caught and passed 4. 2 more ran out of fuel on the last lap.

Thanks so much Wallhugger, that was an intense race. I'm pretty proud of how I handled that, winning is not something I normally do! My heart was going to jump out of my chest on the last 2 laps...

Since we're posting race times, I'll be in the 9:15 eastern Mustang Race (1:15 GMT) at Road America. This should be the high SOF race for the week. Hint Hint Forgetful and Rack.

Great racing with you last night Rack, you and Darryl had great pace and I'm just lucky I got to hang on to my car long enough for 2nd. I didn't realize how tired I was until a few laps into that race; I haven't had that many stupid-self inflicted 1x's in a long time.

It's a bummer the race didn't split, I think we needed two more entrants. Traditionally the 9:15 race has always split and been a big points race. Look what happens when I make an announcement to try and get some interest.

What's a high SOF up there? Highest it's given me in the near-noob races has been about 2000.

Got the Jetta downloaded, so I'll be doing the 8:15 E Grand Touring at Laguna tonight - that should get me out of D license. Probably using the MX5 as it's less deadly than the Solstice here.

Noob races: Join, 5 minute warmup, up to ~90 seconds to clear track and set grid, then the 20-25 minute race, you're back out about 30 minutes after "join"ing.

I don't know why the Advanced Legends oval series suddenly opened up for me, but I ran one at Oxford to see what it was like (before the incoming track change to somewhere else). FUN is what it was like. Other than the one time I spun out on my own I ran incident-free.
