for the first time I'm really upset with iRacing. The race that starts in 2 minutes is most likely the only one I can attend this week and I can't access their page.

Surprisingly their forum works super fast. They really should get their reliability under control, we are all paying for the service after all.

This instability is beginning to get to me. The staff at iRacing seems to communicate a lot more than we're used to. With that being said Mime's communicate better than PD, so that's not saying much. I do hope we get some type of explanation from the staff as many members plan their races around their lives, so if you don't know about a maintenance and log on to find the site not working it becomes maddening as hell.

If its maintenance let us know. If its a hacker let us know. If its too much traffic, let us know. Just let us know that they know there is an issue and that they are trying to fix it. That's all I care about.

With that being said, I hung out with my wife last night which means I get to race tonight. Anyone care to join and hope its running when we log on?

wow, that was fun

in a strong field I started 10th and finished 10th, but it was much more fun than the result might suggest. I lost control in T1 of lap 4 after being passed but other than that I was incident free. I stayed basically all the time in the 1'48s but even w/o the spin I wouldn't have been better than 9th or maybe 8th. The field (SOF 3000) was just too strong. But I really enjoyed it, nothing better than the excitement of a real race.

Before I got towed, the engine reved but nothing else happened, and the tranmission said 1 or 2. So, I presume transmission death. I didn't even thin k I was doing too bad at not abusing the auto-clutch shifts.

Worst part was that I had avoided one of those early lap giant pile ups on the banking, and had slipped quietly from the back of the grid to 1st solstice. Upside was 0 incidents and that pile up being such a mess that I still finished 2nd after a 2 minute or more time loss. I was a mixture of pissed and amused.

Oh wow, didn't realize everything iRace (almost) is at Spa next week. SRF, Skippy, Mustang and GTCup. Only escape is the McLaren at Zolder.

I was reading that a couple of weeks ago, the iRacing outage was caused by a Denial of Service Attack. With all of the outages this week, I wonder if the hooligans are at it again...

Oh Yeah !,, finally broke through the 3000 IR ceiling with a 3rd place finish in the SRF at Phillipe Isle, which landed me at 3030. I had a real clean, competitive weekend, so that's a good place to pack it up before my luck runs out. Congrats to Stephen on his early points surge in GT Cup; he's all the way up to 3rd overall ! Keep scorin', man !

Congrats on the 3k club. Been floating around there for a while now.

Couldn't find a decent SoF race in the Solstice, and then when I did I got wrecked out of first and missed out on 180+ points.
Low participation makes for high stakes racing in those MC races where one class only has a few cars in it. Ran 7 races total so I have an averaged out score of 116 i think. I just want to top 5 overall that one and then I'll move on.

Phillip Island was good to me in both cars.

Oh man, just went all Mark Webber on Fernando Alonso at Eau Rouge on Lap 8 of 8, thought "Hey, this guy has raced cleanly with me for a while, this could work?" (Lies, mostly I thought "I'M A MAN DAMMIT! I DON'T LIFT!") and well, it ended in hilarious tears when I slowed to try and hold an inside/outside line and he did not, so we met in the middle and both died. Finish order had me ahead by .250 seconds.

Video as soon as it's done uploading, was good times. I was a little annoyed because from the replay, I was ahead by a nose, but I can't be that annoyed since it was a public race and it was... Stephen brace yourself... DUN DUN DUNNNNN Fabio.
