In the 52s in free run. Somewhat tricky car; don't go full throttle while turning and you'll be fine. Couple spots where you can be in 2nd gear but it's much easier if you're in 3rd gear.
edit: 2/0 brakes better than 1/0 I think, quicker for me at least.

Re: No Tuning | Elise '96 | Friday Feb 10 | GP/D
Banked a 53.6 last night. Not a particularly good lap, but I was finding it difficult to put this track together. I can be quicker with 2/0 by getting on the brakes later, but you can't use 100% brakes very often or for very long without locking up. 1/0 is more comfortable feeling but slower.
Re: No Tuning | Elise '96 | Friday Feb 10 | GP/D
changed the breaks also to 2/0 and it seems to allow me to break a tiny bit later; 1'52.732 now.
Seeing all the sliding in replay I have to believe there are even a few more tenth out there. But that doesn't seem to be that important for the race. The car is behaving differently after 10 laps or so and I have to learn to adjust to that. Not that it gets (much) slower but I lose the rear much more often than on the first 10 laps.

That's about when the balance changes for me and there's two reasons - the rear tires have some wear, and the front tires (finally) have heat.

Well at least I'm consistant with the splits at 2+ seconds at each so not losing much from point to point . Don't know what I'm doing wrong, but with 230 miles on the car with fresh oil, I can't get past 122 hp. It won't let me refresh the engine whether that would help or not. Shut the game off and came back in and still 122 . Plus after my Q there was no mileage increase. Shoulda been 250+. Anyway, got some good laps, and didn't hit the wall . see you guys after a bit,

Not much position change, but up front I was watchin' the gap back to Don like a nearsighted hawk the entire last 20 laps.

Best lap was 15, including the best T3 I did all race. Splits T1 46.972 - T2 29.793 (1'16.765) - T3 34.778
My best T1 all race was 46.732, best T2 was 29.753, so potential best lap 1'51.263

Like the edit of 'Colonel Mustard' above! lol
Great, consistent run out there by Clacksman. Unfortunately I ran a sloppy lap 6 I believe (1'53.4xx) which cost me Clacksman's bumper. No major mistakes from him meant I never got back, but his general pace was quicker than mine anyway , so well deserved.
Just checked the replay and couldn't help but notice that I stole the fastest lap by 0.003s, my lap 10 of 1'51.540 to Clacksman's lap 15 of 1'51.543 However, I'm clearly doing something wrong in the final sector of this track as I never got below 35s all night, with a best final sector of 35.084s I think. On my fastest lap my splits were T1 - 46.581s, T2 - 29.774s, T3 - 35.185s
Interesting race this one which required a lot of concentration and good car control

Col. Mustard lol. Your car was definitely Dijon color In this one. A regular Frenches Yellow TT might look cool too.
Good job C on the win, watched the replay and got some good info I think. You were braking much later than me. Do you use paddles or shifter? Just askin cuz the downshifts were sounding more like they would using a clutch when you brought yer revs up. Definitely saw where the time was going though. Also not sure that 2 hp didn't make a difference in some areas where I couldn't match acceleration.
Happy to say most of my corner speeds were very close (most of the time) to the rest of you guys. And no crashes (2 baby spins) and I finished in the same lap for a change. 2 more laps and would have not been true lol. After the race I said tuff track on CS, and C said tuff car on CS lol. Most definitely both! There's like 2 spots you can catch your breath and then it's back at it lol. Thanks for all the help this week, I appreciate it. First official race at GP/D.
And if you get a Logitech BT Keyboard for X-mas, hook it up and use it...Duh (controller).

I use the H-pattern shifter but not the clutch. Shifts (up and down) on a replay can sound a bit weird compared to live in the car.

It didn't sound wierd, it sounded right. I don't think you can get the same affect with the paddles. You were doing a compression brake kinda thing hitting the brakes and downshifting at the same time from my view. We used to do that when we were kids in our "Hot Rods" lol cuz it sounded cool. But it will slow you down much quicker than just the brakes. It tears street car to shreds though cuz everything gets a very hard shock. I'll have to see if I can do it with the paddles but I don't think you can bring up the revs without makin the car lurch at the same time (no neutral).

Re: No Tuning | Elise '96 | Friday Feb 10 | GP/D
Slept through the start and got to turn 1 last. In a desparate attempt to catch up I added a little spin 2 turns later.
But looking back it didn't really matter because I doubt there was enough draft to let me hang on to any of the 3 in front. The pace difference was too big.
I enjoyed the race anyway, the car is great and GP/D a fantastic track. I spent about 4 hours preparing for this and w/o that I wouldn't have had a chance to get through the rest of the race w/o bigger mistakes. Finishing 36 seconds behind on a challenging event like this is an accomplishment for me.

Without clutch use there's no neutral (you would see an N in the gear display), and I wasn't adding throttle (it auto-blips on downshifts same as with paddles).

Okay, then I guess it must be how your timing it that it sounded that way.I don't remember you hitting the limiter so you're definitely doing somerthing different then me (besides going faster). I'll still see what I was doin and see if I can replicate what I heard/saw. I can't really use my shifter mounted where it is. I guess at some point I'll move it to my seat pedestal.
