Just realized that I will be getting home in the middle of, if not after the end of, the Driver's Meeting...

No worries Wall, that'd be krek. Threw my the first time I saw it too. Darned 60 seconds per minute
Complaining about 60 seconds per minute?
What about miles, yards, inches, gallons and alike. For someone who grew up with the metric system this is living hell.
Schools and public signs and what not went metric here in '70-1, in other words the 'official' change. Anyone through school before that taught their kids imperial at least as effectively as the schools taught metric.
Let's not tell them about metric time until they figure out the physical measurements based on 10s.

Nope. But, like I said, get distances and weights in metric figured out first.

Problem with making metric time is the earth refuses to orbit the sun a number of days that is a power of ten. NASA should fix this.
Re: Lotus Esprit Trophy | Friday April 13 | Laguna Seca
NASA is too busy being the horribly deflated piniata of the American political process, there's no candy left inside, but they keep beating it and pretending the bits of tinsel and tissue paper can feed the starving.

Yeah, only got home about 5 minutes ago.
Would have just made it if not for the very old man who needed a lot of help with our website who called 5 minutes before the end of the day...
C'est la vie, going to put up my lounge for testing / practice porpoises.

Good race last night. Ran 25 laps before any problems. Had VK comin up and was tryin to hold him off, but tires were getting bad and I pushed just a little too much. Luckily I was right before pit lane and damage was minimal. I thought I had full breakin but turns out I was 6 hp lite. Don't know how bad that affected my times, but the extra hp might have hurt me more than helped lol. Glad to see a full division again, and glad to see Roo and no_affiliations and VK back out there. Laguna should be just as tough comin up.
Have a nice Easter, and I'll see you guys in practice next week.
The wife and I are heading to Vermont in the Z4 to see her brother. First good trip in it since we picked it up. Should be fun. Oh, and who lives close in case I need bail money

Re: Lotus Esprit Trophy | Friday April 13 | Laguna Seca
Good race and a lot of fun last night
I had bad luck in lap 3, when lag caused a collision with the car behind me. I was flying into the sand and ended up with a major engine damage. Luckily the pit wasn't far and as if the game tried to make up for it my pit stop was extremely short. But once all was set and done I was 36 seconds behind the lead.
I then tried to close the gap to the field and it was actually fun to see how I got slowly but surely closer. I drove consistently between 1'04.0 and 1'04.5 with 2 or 3 1'03s.
Good times

Tire changes were about 2 seconds for me in practice. Not sure why, maybe because pit lane here is too tight for the crew.
Having led the whole race it could be described as uneventful, but it sure wasn't unstressful.

Tire changes were quick for me too
Here's the vid. I didn't host, so it's a little laggy on anyone not painted Lava Orange Pearlescent, so it's mostly just video of me.

I won't get home before Thursday night but plan to practice by myself Friday morning or instead of lunch. Would be nice if someone could post how tonight's practice went. Specifically I'm interested in how long the tires last and what a decent alien and a decent mortal time is.

Tires will go 24 laps if you avoid drifting which gets harder with wear.
Fastest draft-free lap 1'39.068 (L3), splits 25.564 23.836 20.354 29.314
Following one was going quicker but ended with some draft. Draft-free splits 25.547 23.650 20.247

Thanks for the info, as always highly appreciated.
I hope to have enough preparation time to not being a danger to anyone else. Next week I should have more time to prepare.

Re: Lotus Esprit Trophy | Friday April 13 | Laguna Seca
Any tips for braking without ABS? I find it difficult to feel my way through the braking phase, which I assume is the point But, just the same. To the experienced guys, what's your advice?
