Just ran Lime Rock with Andy and Thomas. Got a clean race in, but not so for the other DS drivers. Andy's Q time had me worries and Thomas was pulling me in, but they both dropped off at some point.

Was all excited to run with you guys, then quickly decided I'd better run off track and miss my marks lap after lap Was nice to see your bumper, though be it rather briefly.

I'd be a bit shocked too. Just saw the end of the following race, was rather entertaining. Found myself yelling at the screen when you had to defend your final pass

Also took my first official start in the Mustang at Mid Ohio. Dem rolling starts (albeit on the wrong straight lol). Good battle with Stephen until making room for a DP got him crossed up. Good day for racing...

Funny, I watched the end of his race too. Way to hold him off through The Uphill.

I was on a forum sourced setup for that race and it was terrible. Going to run the 7 eastern GA race and probably the 9 as well.

Hmmm, was running the baseline set, biggest problem was I'd never run that long and didn't adjust very well. Will see ya out there

It takes 8 cars in one class (6 if rookie) to make a race official. So if there are 8 Rileys and 3 Mustangs, everyone's race scores championship points and irating. SR is scored at a 1.0 multiplier

If unofficial, say 6 Rileys and 5 Mustangs (same car count, no class with 8 cars), then no championship or iRating points. SR is scored at a .35 multiplier, same rate as TT and Oval Qualifying.

Yes. Though I'm not sure 25% solves the problem, it should open up participation. I scored well in the Mustang and the Solistice (INRC) early in the week and didn't race them again to keep my scores up.

Yeah with 25% that's best single of four or average of best 2/5, if you aren't taking that many stabs how good do you expect to do?

George Arnold said he knew of a place that was not being used. He brought us some aerial photographs of the Foote farm up in Milton. I sat down at a table in the dining room at Baptist Hospital and sketched out where I thought the track should go. One of the doctors, Jesse Meridith knew a couple of road grading contractors, Horace and Harry Strickland from near his hometown of Mount Airy. They actually lived over in Virginia at Fancy Gap. Ed Welch, George Arnold and I took them up to the farm and drove through the grass to show them where the track should go. Dick Snyder was there with his Mercedes 300SL and we used the turning radius of his car to mark the radius of the horseshoe turn at the end of the front straight. The turning radius of the Strickland brothers' road grader was used to set the radius of Oak Tree turn. After they did the rough grading we would take our cars up there on weekends and run around on the dirt at up to 100 mph. We found one place where the cars would get airborne so Horace just took his grader and shaved off enough dirt to correct the problem. We became concerned about the drainage around the track so we waited for a big rainy spell and went up there and corrected the problems we saw.

Kinda figured, just wanted to plug it. Although it can be a bit treacherous (for me) to run the SRF, I have been enjoying the time I've spent trying to keep it rolling forwards.

Man....I really want to log on and get some laps at VIR, it's one of my favorite tracks. This is a crazy busy week....coming off last week which was really busy and crazy. I hope to get at least one race in before it turns to next weeks venue.

Bummer about the tough races. What happened, did another driver get you or did the track bite you? VIR bites pretty hard when it does decide to do bad things to you.
