Re: Forgetful's FR-S
Ummm. Is it wrong that I'm starting to like these? I mean, ya, they're shameless Aventador knockoffs, but if those are your turn signals... that's just cool.

Re: Forgetful's FR-S
Have always loved the 'progressive' turn signal (Ima goin that way ). But styling wise, not sure I like them against all the swoopiness of the FR's lines.

Re: Forgetful's FR-S
I did a thing!
Installed the tap-turn flasher and switchback led turnsignals up front.
Tap turn is a flasher that's programmed to provide 3-6 flashes from a touch of the signal stalk.
The switchback leds replace the amber bulbs in the signals with white/amber multimode leds that glow white with your headlights but flash amber when you signal
Up next is the 6000k bright HID kit to match the LED's bluish glow (stock projectors are pretty orange)

Re: Forgetful's FR-S
I needed to replace the flasher to accomodate the LEDs anyways, so for a few more bucks I added some functionality as well. It has 'car show' features, with your hazards on and your signal stalk in the up position your signals alternate. In the down position your hazards work in slo-mo, and if you move quickly from up to down you get slo-mo alternating hazards.
Tails are still on the menu, but now I'm leaning towards the TOM's.

Glow white with DRLs you mean? Pretty sweet either way.Forgetful wrote:

Re: Forgetful's FR-S
On the FR-S the DRLs are the inside portion of the headlight. First click on the stalk is just the DRLs. Full headlights on turns those off but turns the signals on to glow. The inside DRLs also serve as your highbeams.clacksman wrote:Glow white with DRLs you mean? Pretty sweet either way.Forgetful wrote:

This is what the headlights look like 'on'.
This is just the DRLs on (though if you change to LEDs like in this video you lose highbeams, so no go on those)

Birthday LEDs! I got 2% off for 'recommending' them on FB. Little did I know it was going to post about each product. Oh well, basically got 1/2 off shipping for the trouble of spamming my friends, which probably works considering you all want LEDs now, don't you?clacksman wrote:Those eleventeen facebook posts from diodedynamics are pretty classy.

This is an upgrade I am planning for my E30... Dem 1992 GE headlamps...Forgetful wrote:HIDs and the rest of my LEDs arrived this morning. Will be installing tonight.
Re: Forgetful's FR-S
Almost all the lights installed. Couldn't get the sidemarkers out so those are the only ones not done. The HIDs look beautiful and now the front of my car glows a gorgeous 6000k blue/white.
I smile every time I see my switchback turn signals blinking in the reflection of the car in front of me.
Ordered some snow shoes and steelies for her. Going with a slightly taller Hakkapelitta R2 on -1" (16") rim. They'll be black steelies, but I'm considering spaying them white.

Only fools paint all four of their steelies the same colour.
