We can record that, so long as we also record: "Felipe baby stay cool , stay cool baby!" whenever you opt for a windshield tear off.
Re: iRacing General Discussion
You were wronged that corner mate. Try to hold back from calling the field a bag of dicks while the race is still on though mate.
(As you can see, I think keeping it Australian would be a good idea).

I think there are two spotter packs here. One made up of soundbites, the other, 'Aussie Spotter 2.0'.

Aussie Spotter 2.0 needs to be all of us recording using really bad Aussie accents though.
'ATS NAWT A NOIF! 'IS 'S A NOIF!
Re: iRacing General Discussion
A bad kiwi accent would just be one unintelligible race long mumble: "offunncauufnuzfsivgurlsbwosefsva". Not good listening.

Hell in a handbasket?
No, seriously though; one pack called DriverSports (featuring someone who's not Ben), and DriverSports Antipodean (featuring Ben).
I just like using 'antipodean' in a sentence.

Scary when you get a glimpse of just how complicated it can be behind the scenes. Nerd in me is certainly impressed.

I have to head in to the office all night tonight but I don't suppose I could interest any of you in a Lotus 79 race around Watkins Glen or similar tomorrow afternoon? With it being Week 13, I've got a hankerin' for some Open Wheel racing and well, the Lotus 79 just feels like the most manly machine available.

I think I could talk myself in to it but I don't know how many of us even own the beast.

What a cruel thing to call her; she's pretty to me!
No, just.. no. The Lotus 79 is a monster but slap a high downforce setup on it and maybe pop in a click or two of front wing and I find she behaves nicely. I'm not saying I am fast, no no no, but I do feel like I have a good handle on the car.
If getting sideways while steering with 1 hand and man-handling your way through a very generous gearbox in a shouty fire-breathing dragon of a machine is your idea of fun, it's $14.95 extremely well spent.
Re: iRacing General Discussion
Anyone up for a hosted session tonight? I was thinking 5pm Pacific/8pm Eastern start? Something open wheel/ultra light? Someplace with character?
Re: iRacing General Discussion
Ahem. Reading another board, I happened across a post where iRacings talent groupings were described like this:
Sounds about right to me.
alien - good - how does I tire - people who are actually not good - this is not forza - this is not GRID - how does I wheel
Sounds about right to me.

Happily right in the middle with "people who are actually not good", occasionally reaching "how does I tire" status.
For those in a similar situation, Jackie Stewart will now explain how he does tire:
Re: iRacing General Discussion
Some of you may be happy to know that we have been working on porting iRacing to run on Mac and Linux. By rough estimates Apple and Linux make up between 15% - 25% of the market space and as far as we can tell nothing like iRacing exists on those platforms. We are actually far enough along with this project that we have our first build to test. This is exciting for iRacing because we could see a nice jump in members with this port.
If you are a Mac or Linux user and want to get involved with testing we would appreciate the help. Please email chris.weidner@iracing.com with your system specifications and what controllers you have for these systems and he will get back to you if we would like your help.

Interesting. I'll check it out, but I'm prepared to just race booted up into Windows. Macs generally run the same game faster as a PC than under OSX.

This, and shifting from 3rd to 4th on an H-pattern, are the most manly gestures in driving. Dat noise, dat action.
Re: iRacing General Discussion
Whoa, nice Forgetful!!!
Next time I'm in Kamloops, do you mind if I swing by to check out the shifter and button box?
Seriously though, DSD lives only 2 hours away and I'm in his city a few times a year for work, I've often thought about emailing him to see if I could swing by to see his product and give them a test drive. Every time I get ready to email him I stop myself because I assume he'll think I'm some kind of punk weirdo.
How do you like the products?
