sup
GameStop 'anniversary edition' one is ~25 cars, don't think it costs anything extra. There's no super-krek edition with a diecast or book or watever.SpecMiata-JSW wrote:

Thank you Dr. That was the one I was looking at, but i wasn't sure if there were any better options out there that I wasn't aware of.clacksman wrote:supGameStop 'anniversary edition' one is ~25 cars, don't think it costs anything extra. Is anyone else concerned about the frame-rate of this monster on the PS3? I hope it's not a choppy disaster with all the additional features and tracks.

Re: Gran Turismo 6 general
I haven't seen anything better than the GS one in my GT6 news feed. If I had to bet I'd say there's a big-ass box set incoming the moment they're done making GT6 DLC.
Won't be worse than 5. The 'tesselation' should help quite a bit.SpecMiata-JSW wrote:Is anyone else concerned about the frame-rate of this monster on the PS3? I hope it's not a choppy disaster with all the additional features and tracks.

Tesselation sounds pretty high tech. I like that.

Jordan had this to say on the topic after a hands-on:SpecMiata-JSW wrote:Is anyone else concerned about the frame-rate of this monster on the PS3? I hope it's not a choppy disaster with all the additional features and tracks.
Full Article: http://www.gtplanet.net/gt6-hands-on/Jordan wrote:My only issues with these new courses were some unsteady frame rates when a batch of cars got close together on the screen. Although it wasn’t severe, it was more significant than dropped frames I have seen while playing GT5. In the replays, there were also some chunky-looking shadows, which are almost certainly a side-effect of the dynamic lighting engine required to render changing time and weather. Loading times for these races with full grids were also quite long. At one point, I actually thought the game had crashed before the race finally began.
It may be unfair to critique these issues before the game officially goes gold – no doubt, at this stage of development, most of the remaining work will involve fixing bugs and smoothing out these types of hiccups.

Weird shadows specifically during replays seems kind of odd.
Large-field races at weather tracks in GT5 take longer to load too.

Re: Gran Turismo 6 general
It wouldn't surprise me if shadows got janky if replays are using an "enhanced" graphics mode to try and show off some improved purdyness on the webtubes. Hopefully they'll be able to optimize. Nothing ruined a great shot in photomode faster than the janky shadows or any kind of smoke...
I preordered my copy from Gamestop, in spite of not actually having a working PS3 right now. My name is William, and I have a problem.

Buy it for your kid, helpfully preinstall it on the PS3 (good dad etc), and you won't be disappointed.vkaifh in another thread wrote:Yeah, I'm a trophy collector, the only reason why I might buy GT6 is to golden the driver licenses

I'm such a GT nerd. I can't wait!! It's hard to believe its just over a week away from being in my PS3.
I also can't believe the feeling a new GT release gives me. Like a kid in a candy store.

I'm interested to see how good the online will be. Other than that, I have a sick completionist fetish that will be satisfied for a while by the single player side.
Dat library of cars should be fun.

Online will be borked until mid-January due to traffic and the glitch-fix-update-release-lag.Forgetful wrote:I'm interested to see how good the online will be. Other than that, I have a sick completionist fetish that will be satisfied for a while by the single player side.

Clacks, does your PS3 still work? I fired up my PS3 for some nostalgia over the weekend and saw that you haven't logged in for 60 something days?
Are you getting GT6?
Just curious who we'll see on track from here.

Imma get it but my stupid building doesn't get internets worth paying for which is why I'm way down the "time since logged in" chart.SpecMiata-JSW wrote:Clacks, does your PS3 still work? I fired up my PS3 for some nostalgia over the weekend and saw that you haven't logged in for 60 something days?

Ah I see. Do you have a master plan for better internets so we can hang out?
