Yeah, I drove the John Deer around Oxford in practice for a bit, I think my best lap was in the ... 17s? My favorite thing about the track is that it's like driving around a crater. If you run too wide, you just fly off the edge of the caldera and end up out in the grass no where near the track. Or way up in the fence. Definitely looking forward to doing some real racing there, but don't have a handle on the Rumrunner to be anything like safe...

Yeah the streetstock is weirdo to drive. I liked the Legend, didn't do anything to the baseline setup but it works pretty well.
Also boo the grand touring cup race I was going to do just switched to Brads Hatch. Good thing I got enough TTs in earlier today at Laguna to be into C license, not sure what I can run on this weeks tracks other than Mazdas on SlimeRock.

It opened up because your safety rating went above 3.0. It's a Rookie (3.0) event, meaning you have to have a 3.0 safety rating in Rookie to participate.
From D class and up, almost all of the events require <previous class license 4.0>. So for example when you get your road racing to Class C 4.0 or higher, there are many Class B series that become available, even though you're still class C.

My oval SR was 3.4x since before noon today, took it long enough to add the series to my eligible list.
Mmmm, Caddies at Mid-Ohio ... that'll work.

You should be able to run the Caddy, the Mazda Cup and the inRacing News Challenge at Charlotte Road course.

My week will consist of Mustangs at DRC (GA) and Mosport (MC). A little Brad's Hatch will be in store as well. Tonight I TT and Q.

Caddies at Mid-O is reaaaaaaaaaallllllllyyy good.
dat grip change on and off the patches
dat steering weight change over the crests
dem vee ate powerslides
awwwwwwwwwwwww yyeaaaaahhh
And then I did the solstice/MX5 at Charlotte road. I knew the road course existed, and I even knew it had surprising elevation change (I was one of the 8 people who watched the ALMS race from there some years back), but hot damn that's just redonkulous to drive. Also the Solstice seems to have a bunch of top speed over the MX5.

I was at that race! Just one of many benefits of going to college in Charlotte. One thing I clearly remember about that race was watching the Panoz drivers manually down shifting into turn 1.
The good old days when race car drivers shifted with a stick rather than bits on the steering wheel.

Let's see here, lever vs. paddle shifting
Lever pros:
Funner to watch drivers operate it
Paddle pros:
Costs several hundred thousand dollars more
Infinitessimally faster

Great racing with you last night Rack, you and Darryl had great pace and I'm just lucky I got to hang on to my car long enough for 2nd. I didn't realize how tired I was until a few laps into that race; I haven't had that many stupid-self inflicted 1x's in a long time.
It's a bummer the race didn't split, I think we needed two more entrants. Traditionally the 9:15 race has always split and been a big points race. Look what happens when I make an announcement to try and get some interest.
Fun race last night and great racing!
What's a high SOF up there? Highest it's given me in the near-noob races has been about 2000.
Also : must ... stop ... spinning ... out ... exiting ... final ... turn ... at ... Jefferson reverse ...
Anywhere between 2800-3000. The winner of the 3092 SOF race earned 196 points. LOL!

Yowzah. Above my snack bracket for the time being, the ol' irating has taken a minor hit at the new tracks.

Whats even cooler is I had an internship at the then called "Charlotte Motor Speedway" now known as Lowes. I was working during the two day ALMS testing event, and I can't tell you how hard it is to concentrate when you can hear a BMW V12 LMR on the track. Audi was still using the R8R to compete, but during the test day they had a new all carbon R8 to test. Seeing that car in real life blew my AND my college friends mind. It was so beautiful, and little did we know that it would become the dominant beast that we all became so familiar with.
I also got a few tracks days on Charlotte and can tell you that it's a fun little Roval.
Other benefits of going to school in Charlotte.
- Chicks
- Mountains 90 minutes away (great for driving the day away)
- Beer
- Far away from home....but not too far!
- Being close to Road Atlanta (using this track to get college buddies who had no idea about racing VERY much into racing) We still meet at Petit every year.
- Beer
- Getting introduced to GT1 then enjoying GT2 my senior year. Funny thing was we used to play and dream of how cool it would be to link up and race without a split screen. We also used to wonder how good we were compared to other players, since we didn't have a benchmark.

Neat. It's not Lowe's anymore, the $ deal ended so it's once again Charlotte Motor Speedway. As has Infineon's deal with Sears Point, ending ... this month I think.

Serious. Bidness.

True facts. In many ways it surprises me that more companies don't do this...

There one for 'main performance pc' on now, run them as 'primary sponsor' in 10 official races during season 3 for random chance to win a $nice rig. Have already done so in 11 races.
Also the nvidia sponsorship update put a nvidia sticker on the rear license plate area of the mx5s.

Engine failure from over-revving with a too-early downshift is modeled.
