Question:

Last night I did a race and of course went off in T2 of the first lap from first place. I clearly had some suspension damage (steering rod) but was able to limp around and into the pits. While limping, I figured out how to pull up my tire/fuel menu and selected not to get any tires or fuel. When I came to a stop in my pit stall the lollipop man kept raising and lowering the lollipop over and over. I figured this meant I had missed my pit stall, so I tried to get my car into the stall, but to no avail. Finally I just hit the reset button, but I guess since I was already in the pits that exits into the main menu. So I clicked race button and it put me back in the car. FInally I went into my tire settings and checked one of the tires, and immediately the car was jacked up and the tire changed. Then the lollipop went up and I left the pits, the damage repaired.

My question is, what was I supposed to do? Was the damage fixed as soon as I came to a stop?

You get one free instant repair. The lollipop raising and lowering like that is a glitch I think. If that things goes up, drive off.

I know if you cancel all the tire changes it doesn't fix the damage - it will send you back out with a bent car. I don't remember if I was towed in or limped in that time. I don't know specifically what the neverending lollipop wave means, if anything.

Possibly. And the one free insta-fix is once you get there, the tow in from wherever you died still takes however long.

Never-ending Lollipop wave is a bug AFAIK, even with no fuel/no tires checked you should get 1 free insta-repair. Have done this on ovals, thankfully having been wrecked at the pit entry! Wink Insta-repair goes away in events above a certain level (C Class and up IIRC).

Pull in, stop, drive off. If you have a crumpled hood, you'll notice it go back to ship-shape as soon as you come to a stop.

lol no instarepair in our hosted session, and even after doing the full optional repair time the car was never quite right again, and I don't think you can ever get it back perfect.

Di9d the 10:30 E Advanced Legends race on USA speedway. Started 10th/12 on no Q time (in split 2/3), won (first oval win), incident free (always good to dodge three wrecks).

Yeah I had that happen at Charlotte Roval, alignment was hosed, 10 minutes in the pits only to drive out with, fundamentally, the same damage... No

Wow, Daytona is GORGEOUS! The turns and curbs are where they're supposed to be, and there are no bonus 'developer walls' at the bus stop or T1. Also short bus stop, accurate infield, dem puffy clouds and was that Jumbo Jet landing? cyclops

I almost spun in T1 and you passed on the outside. Then you went wide into the last turn and I passed on the inside going into T1.

That's funny because I have seen a couple of guys who have started new accounts, presumably to hide from the poor statistics that come with the learning curve, a common practice in shooters. They were both oval'ers who got in to a lot of wrecks trying to win all of the time in Street Stockers.

Well, that was mostly fun. 4 Mustangs... 20 Riley's. Shocked

Started 2nd, fell back to 4th after 2 early bobbles. Reel'd in 3rd. 2nd quit. Only one 2x loss of control and one 1x off track up until the 68 min mark when a Riley misread me through turn 1. He set up wide, I tried to stay left but pushed out a bit, he read that as me crossing and tried to cut under me but I was still arcing left. He went under my backend and drove out from under my left side. I had to call for a tow, and after the 3 mins of repair I was still broken enough that I retired.

Did a lot of running with the MX-5 at LRP, my optimal lap is a 58.8, but I can't get the braking right for turn 1 and keep losing time. I was on pace for a 59.0 but I blew the 2nd to last corner. Would be a lot easier if I left foot braked and used sequential gearbox, but where's the fun in that? I must be starting to get the hang of this now, getting close to the fastest times! Very Happy

(Still like GT5 better tongue )
