Sweet! When you get it and hook everything up write a quick review. I've been curious how people use button boxes, the idea seems cool but I'm not sure how to extract every bit out of a purchase like that.

I'm not yet sure what I'll use all of the buttons for, but just off the top of my head there is:
Brake Balance in the SRF (and others)
ARB and BB in the L79
ABS, Fuel Mapping in the MP4, etc
Pit stop fuel
Canned Messages
Chat volumes

Everything that doesn't have every exact real detail of real racing simulated exactly correctly perfectly is just a game and can not be called a simulator unless a pro uses it to legitimately train for the real thing.
EVER!
Oh Stephen, you've been believing what you read on the internet again.

NSFWK always makes me chuckle...
That video is going to make me miss my bus - not going to be able to stand up in polite company for a while... The Lotus 79 sounds like a Stuka.

With the angst over the 49, and the title of that video, I think they have to be telling us we're getting the car at the end of this season, without actually saying that it's coming out.

Also, apparently those are the newly textured Lagoona and USA International.

Was thinking that same thing - which also means NTM v5, which is exciting stuff.

The pic came from Steve Myer's twitter. He posts a lot of interesting stuff there about what's coming up next, and often answers fans' questions about upcoming content as well.

As someone who sucks, I resent this.
Even at my ... generous ... size, I am pretty damn quick in a Kart. It's handling a car that rolls around on it's springs and weight transfer that gets me.
Re: iRacing General Discussion
Noticed that the Indy Car Practice sessions are open to me. Jumped in a room, first time in the Indycar.
Feels like driving a car, not an alien spaceship the way that Williams is just surreally fast.
Did high 1'36s. Top 5 in the room, though some guy did a 1'34... That is very largely down to the fact that Daytona Road and I know each other well from GT5. Learning new tracks... (Oran Park scares me...)

8 races in a couple of days, sitting in my dining chair behind my collapsible wheel stand, with pedals that don't go full throttle until I press forward and up a bit (mean's I'm just under the full throttle marker for a second after going full gas). I notice my back is aching from the lack of support, so I decided to post.
Now how to convince my wife that a portion of our tax return should be rig money, supporting my frivolous hobby? And how do I convince her that a rig would still allow our spare bedroom to be said spare bedroom, when it's also the office and repository from all the stuff from the basement of our old house?

"Honey, we both know I'm just dumb enough to keep doing this from the dining chair and the cost of a rig is no where near as high as the cost of the Doctors who will be required to repair all the damage I'll do to myself. You might as well surrender now, you know I'm not wrong about this."
Amididthisright?
Re: iRacing General Discussion
I'm guessing none of the answers will involve the term 'triple monitors', so I really don't know what to say.
Some of the 'wheel stand' variety paired with the right chair aren't bad and tuck away nicely.

With the monitor on the mounts it only takes up a corner. Mine is a couple of years old now and I'm very happy with it still, and forsee no need to invest in that part of my setup for years to come.

Derp, I just got this. Sadly the chances of a 'true' road racing kart is nil I'm sure. Coolness of a 250 SuperKart would quickly erase those thoughts though.

That is.. shockingly reasonable. Hmmmm...

That's pretty much what I'd been looking at. It's actually quite reasonable, and I haven't heard many people complaining. One of my reasons not to already have it, is that I'm not sure when I would need to stop buying things once I got my hands on it.
My monitor is smallish for how far away it winds up and weirdly low down, because of the height of desks and chairs. I could bolt a similarly sized display on this mount and the size would be fine, because the distance is less, but if I used the monitor stand I probably create a bigger positioning and storage problem. Either way, a new monitor is required
I'd be loathe to keep the DFGT with a new rig, because of the pedal problem, but I guess that would do in the short term.
Let's not talk about not wanting to play this forever off the PC side of my Mac laptop.

Not bad.
Actually, she's not even really against it. If I get to spend $X on frivolous shit, then she gets to take $X into Manhattan. I'm effectively actually arguing with myself, as I am normally the financial voice of reason, so whatever I think of spending, I need to double for sake of marital equity. That's fine, but if you see my potential shopping list above, that $300 rig quickly can become more.
