I recently bought a new G27, I ended up running the following settings:

In Windows: rotation 900, enable FF checked, overall effects 100%, spring effect 0%, damper effect 100%, centering spring unchecked, centering spring strength 0%, allow game to adjust checked.

In the Sim: 900 degrees/900 degrees, linear mode checked, ff checked, damping 0%, min. force 12.6%

For the "mushy" cars, i.e., solstice, I run the FF at 20, and for the stiffer suspended cars more like 12-14.

Re Q'd the Mustang for the 2nd Meow before the 2.4. Ended up in split 6 this time. Started 15th of 20 Fords. I think I passed 6 cars by nailing the start and taking advantage of the cautious 1st lap. After that I reeled in two more, passed a few spinners and was suddenly 4th and reeling in 3rd. Couldn't catch him due to traffic, but really, lets not be greedy. An 11 position gain is pretty dang good.

Of note, the 20 stangs were q'd under a blanket of 6 tenths.

lol, this week and next week are 2012 events and the Roar Before the 2.4 is a 2013 event, so I've started my stats for the 2013 fiscal year before closing my 2012 books.

I started in the same split as Mac K at GTP. I started 17 and he was 16. I had a great first 8 laps or so. Slowly made my way up the field. I was following Mac when some car dive bombed both of us at turn 3. He went right by me (technically not really a dive bomb since he did that cleanly) but took Mac out in the corner. I made it through that cleanly and got all the way up to 12th or 13th but got hit in turn 1 a lap or two latter. Don't know what the guy was thinking. He hit my rear panel and wasn't ever close to making a pass. I had to pit for repairs. A couple of laps after that I was hunting down a jetta and a mustang. The jetta overcooked a corner and went off and the mustang, for some reason, locked up his brakes and slid into the corner. I tried to pass them on the inside line but the jetta tried to come back on and hit the mustang into me. I had to pit again for repairs. After 3min of repairs, I was back on the track but never got close to another mustang. Started 17, finished 17.

Week 13 is almost here and, as always, there’s plenty in store for every iRacer, road and/or oval racer, no matter the license level.

Everyone from Rookie to Class B can move up the license ladder in time for 2013 Season 1 by boosting their ratings in the Week 13 SpecRacer Ford Challenge (road) and Street Stock Challenge (oval) series. The SRF Challenge runs at Okayama (long and short), Charlotte (road), Laguna Seca, Summit Point (Jefferson Reverse) and Lime Rock, while the Street Stock Challenge features the JR Motorsports Street Stock car at Thompson, South Boston, Lanier, Charlotte (both the Legends and the 1.5 mile ovals), Oxford Plains and USA International.

Both are official series, with Safety Ratings and iRatings in effect, so competitors have a one last chance to increase their license ratings before promotions for Season 1 are finalized at week’s end. Likewise, rookies who have yet to complete the category-specific minimum participation requirements for graduation to a D license (two official races or four time trials in each category) can do so in Week 13.

The week’s unofficial competition includes the ever-popular Carburetor Cup with the Impala Class A at Talladega, together with several different versions of the 24 Hours of Fun. One features mixed class oval racing (!) with the Nationwide Class B Impala and the Chevy Silverado Class C at Rockingham, Charlotte and Daytona. The road side pits the Cadillac, Ford Falcon V8, Ford GT, Corvette C6.R and the McLaren MP4-12C GT3 against one another at Spa and Suzuka and, once the new content is released, we’ll have a third series with the Williams-Toyota FW31 at Interlagos.

Finally, back by popular demand is the iRacing Gymkhana Challenge, a single car, single lap competition for the Legends, Mazda MX-5 Cup and SpecRacer Ford cars on the Oran Park (North B) course.

i would love to run the 2.4, but the timing is bad since it's on the same weekend as the 24 Hours. I'll be juggling my son's birthday and attending the race, so my only opportunity to race will be on Friday night...I don't know, maybe it'll work out. I had so much fun last night that I'd love to do a big race like that again.

Who else is in for the 2.4?

Hmm... Registered for the last GTCup race, but missed it and forfeited. Lost 75 iR and scored a 0 championship points, and as my 5th race that means that my 109 gets averaged against whatever my 2nd best score was. Fine, to be expected, and as it should be.

What was unexpected was the 0 incidents received counting towards my average incidents per race.

I noticed a few weeks ago, when I was around 220 road races, that my avg inc was 5.60, which is awful. So, I've been carefully carving it down and it's now at 5.08 for 2012, 5.06 for my career (2 races in 2013 already). I just didn't expect to be able to sell iR to lower it. Not that I want to, but you would think 0 laps turned should not equal 1 race run.

not the only oddity, you also get a win added to your stats when being the only car in a multiclass race as long the as the other cars turn the race into an official race. I haven't tried out how many laps you have to complete to get that win, but I could imagine you get it with only 1 (or even 0) lap completed.

Here's the scenario.
I have 914 points. Roo has 913.

My two scores so far are 106 and 147 for an average of 126.

Roo's two scores are 134 and 92 for an average of 113.

Roo and I have 7 and 6 race respectively. We can each run another race and still only average our 2 best, so nothing to lose.

He needs to beat me and score better than a 96 (4 points better than 92 improves his average by 2 points). We race in 2 mins Very Happy

We were in split 1/2, so there were enough points up for grabs, but we were up against two of the fastest solsti out there, so we were destined to finish 3rd and 4th where there wasn't enough points for Roo. And sure enough a slow Jetta banked off of me and in to Roo in T1 on lap 1, sealing our fate. Bittersweet.

Well all in all, pretty great first full iRacing season. Hopefully I can be a bit more consistent in this coming season and find the speed to give you guys a fight What a Face

Well, that was awesome for the 1st 50 yards ! Ironically that was the same Jetta who messed up our race yesterday. You may have heard Backman referring to him many times as "the driver with the IQ of a tomato". We knew with Velkov and Backman in there that it would take a miracle to run 2nd or better, so when the "tomato" somehow managed to take us both out in the 1st turn on lap 1, all it really did was take all the fun out of it. Congrats Stephen on your late season points charge and D2 championship; and thanks for the lesson on how the points system works. Believe me when I tell you, I understand the system better than ever now. Rolling Eyes

You can also win in multiclass without ever having led a lap. Most stats are related to how you finish within your class but you are only given credit for leading a lap if you are first overall.
